So what’s Live at Knebworth: Parts 1, 2 & 3 all about?

Knebworth, Hertfordshire, June 30, 1990. 120,000 fans gathered for an historic concert event to aid the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Centre and the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology. This incredible benefit concert was an instant success due to the high-energy, awe-inspiring performances of such rock ‘n’ roll legends as Paul McCartney, Phil Collins, Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, Elton John, Mark Knopfler, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, Status Quo, Tears For Fears and Cliff Richard & The Shadows. The 2002 DVD edition features a new 5.1 Dolby Surround and DTS sound mix.

Personally, I thought Elton John was incredible, but wasn’t too impressed with Status Quo.

The story is intriguing enough, but what makes Taboo even more striking is that the heterosexual samurai treat their comrade’s queer leanings as possibly dangerous, but only because of the potential for jealousy and inflamed passions–there’s no sense that they see it as unnatural or even unmanly, in striking contrast with the American military view. Japanese superstar Beat Takeshi (Fireworks, Sonatine) plays a samurai captain struggling to maintain order in the ranks. First, the movie is about MOTHER JOAN OF THE ANGELS is a neglected masterpiece of the Polish cinema. Based on the same historical events that inspired Aldous Huxley’s novel THE DEVILS OF LOUDON and Ken Russell’s film THE DEVILS, MOTHER JOAN OF THE ANGELS is a disturbing exploration of faith, repression, fanaticism, and desire by acclaimed Polish director Jerzy Kawalerowicz (AUSTERIA, QUO VADIS?). In a remote convent on the barren plains of 17th-century Poland, a young priest arrives to exorcize the demons from a group of possessed Ursuline nuns. When he meets the beautiful head of the convent, her blasphemies against the church both repel and excite him, with tragic consequences. Veteran director Kawalerowicz was a colleague of Andrezj Wajda and the longtime head of Poland’s prestigious Kadr film studio..

I really enjoyed the performace of Mieczyslaw Voit and Mieczyslaw Voit. The rest of the cast was solid as well. The cast includes Lucyna Winnicka, Mieczyslaw Voit, Anna Ciepielewska, Maria Chwalibóg, Kazimierz Fabisiak.
